About the Cultural Stage

The Rainier Beach community advocated for an outdoor covered performance stage that would be accessible to young people, artists, and community members - with Rainier Beach residents getting first dibs.  Having a Cultural Stage in Rainier Beach was a priority highlighted in the 2012 Rainier Beach Neighborhood Plan and was built out formally during the community design of Be’er Sheva park improvements, which Link2Lake facilitated in 2016. RBL2L formed the Cultural Stage Collective in Spring 2023 of neighborhood cultural workers, artists and organizations to build upon the vision for the stage and curate the community programming.  The Cultural Stage will serve as an educational and performance venue for community rooted arts and cultural organizations in Rainier Beach and South East Seattle, as well as King County.

The Collective Story

The Cultural Stage at Rainier Beach is a celebration of the diverse and vibrant culture that thrives in the community. A collective of artists, community leaders, and local performers came together to create a vision for the programming of the stage. Their goal was to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the area and provide a platform for local talent to shine. The result is a dynamic and engaging lineup of performances and events that truly captures the spirit of Rainier Beach.
